French Roulette

French Games

Game rules.

The game table is rectangular shaped and consists of a wheel divided into 37 pockets numbered from 0 to 36 and a green baize grid for the stakes.

On the wheel, 0 is on a green pocket.

The other 36 numbers are indicated inside alternating red and black pockets. On the green baize grid, there are lines and spaces that indicate numbers, simple combinations, columns and dozens.

The game consists in guessing which numbered pocket the ball will fall into and placing wagers against the bank.

When the croupier announces Messieurs, faites vos jeux, the game begins: the players lay their bets by placing one or more chips (fiches) on the numbers or on the combinations of their choice.

In order to avoid misunderstandings and disagreements, it is advisable to allow the croupier to lay the bets.

The croupier spins the wheel and throws in the ball in the opposite direction to which the wheel is turning.

Wagers can be placed until the croupier announces Rien ne va plus.

When the ball lands in one of the 37 pockets the winning number is declared.
